Mission Creek Stream Restoration

Duluth, MN

NORDIC Group was selected by the St. Louis County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) to complete this challenging stream restoration project located near the Neighborhood of Fond du Lac in the City of Duluth. This project was partially funded by the MnDNR. The project included channel excavation, material harvesting, stream re-alignment, temporary stream diversion, installation of streambed wood and rock habitat structures, grading of flood plain, restoration of a small tributary channel and the removal of a debris catcher. Work also included the reestablishment of native trees, shrubs, and grasses as well as the restoration of key trails.
